Puppet Slamwich at Black Cherry Puppet Theater celebrates puppetry for adult audiences in all of its forms, from traditional to experimental, as well as related genres, such as vaudeville, cabaret, sleight of hand, toy and object theater and handmade animation. Puppet Slawich hopes to introduce audiences to a broad array of puppetry, welcoming emerging and established artists from the Mid-Atlantic Region and beyond. We welcome seasoned puppeteers as well as artists new to puppetry and performance. We celebrate experimental, innovative, inclusive, transgressive, political and poetic work. We also invite traditional performances, from handpuppet shows to marionettes, to highlight the richness and depth of this art form. Shows can be anywhere from 30 seconds to 30 minutes!
