As spring approaches, the puppets keep multiplying like randy rabbits! New performers are popping up like crocuses! March’s Puppet Slamwich includes performances by man of wonders David London, new critters and stories by the prolific Kevin Sherry and shorts by Jim Henson grantees Jim Sheehan and Jeanine Padgett.  Sarah Olmsted Thomas and Alex Vernon bring their vaudevillian verve to the Black Cherry stage for the first time with “Milo the Magnificent.” An ensemble of young puppeteers, under the direction of Colette Searls, presents a crowd pleaser from their winter show “Fabulous Presto!” Brooklyn-based cartoonist and crankie storyteller Matthew Thurber tells a tale made just for his Charm City stop with “Alice the Goth!” If that doesn’t make your heart race, 80’s cover band Umami will keep you revved up!

Saturday, March 9, 2013 at 7pm and 9:30pm at Black Cherry Puppet Theater, 1115 Hollins St., Baltimore MD 21223. Tickets are $7, and can be purchased by clicking here for Brown Paper Tickets. Tickets will also be sold at the door, thirty minutes before each show. Seating is general admission and limited.
